Facebook Engagement Calculator

Discover which posts drive the most interaction.

Enter followers, likes, comments and shares to get your Facebook engagement rate as a percentage. The maths is deliberately the plain version — (likes + comments + shares) ÷ followers × 100 — so the number is comparable to every benchmark published against the same formula, rather than a vendor's private score.

How to use the Facebook Engagement Calculator

  1. Enter your Facebook follower count.
  2. Enter likes, comments and shares for one post (or totals for a period).
  3. Read the rate — it updates as you type.
  4. Run it on your five best and five worst posts; the gap tells you more than either number alone.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good engagement rate?

It depends far more on account size than on network — small accounts routinely post several percent, large ones a fraction of one. Compare yourself to your own last quarter before comparing to a published benchmark.

Followers or reach in the denominator?

Followers is the standard for public benchmarking, because anyone can see it. Reach is the more honest measure of whether the people who saw it cared — use it internally, but do not compare it to follower-based figures.

Do saves and clicks count?

Not in this formula. They matter, but they are not in the standard definition — add them separately if your reporting does, and note the change so the numbers stay comparable.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type leaves the page.
